History of the Parish

The chapel occupies grounds that have served the parish since long before the present registers begin. Local records describe the site under an older name, Gymnicher Burg, through most of the 19th and 20th centuries; the official renaming to Schloss Nörvenich followed in 1980–81, a change reflected in later parish correspondence but not in the building itself, which was left untouched by the renaming.

The chapel proper was consecrated in 1962, during a round of renovations that otherwise altered little of the surrounding grounds. A caretaker's residence still stands at the edge of the property, maintained by the same family across three generations, though the parish office no longer keeps a current record of who occupies it.

Public tours of the grounds are not offered. Enquiries regarding access should be directed to the parish office in writing.
